Call for Jihad

A Bin Laden spokesman was reported as saying jihad “is a duty of every Muslim” who hasn’t got an excuse (Oct. 10). Well, I have a pretty good excuse: Osama bin Laden does not represent me or my faith. I am a Muslim, not a terrorist. The terms are mutually exclusive. Either you are a Muslim or a terrorist, but you can’t be both.

Let me get this correct. According to a Bin Laden spokesman, the hijackers who flew the two planes into the World Trade Center, killing thousands of civilians, did a “good deed,” but if the United States harms one Afghan civilian we are a terrible people.
