Britain’s Global Role

Share

British Prime Minister Tony Blair is not so much a “stalking horse” for President Bush, as you depict him, as he is a Trojan horse for Yasser Arafat (editorial, Oct. 17). British experience in forming states has not been perfect. The creation of the Irish Free State in 1921 did not bring peace but rather continuing strife to that wonderful land. Blair should work on this problem closer to his home.

Thanks must be sincerely expressed for Great Britain’s solid support of the U.S. in the fight against terrorism militarily, on land, sea and air, and in the diplomatic, financial and intelligence fields.
