Postal Workers Provide First Line of Defense

Share

I think I have a real solution to fighting anthrax distribution through the mail. Isn’t it time that banking and financial institutions allow for free electronic bill-payment services? Other automated billing systems (credit cards, phone bills, etc.) can also go electronic, if requested by the customer. The post office should also end useless, unwanted junk mail. Eliminating unnecessary mail will make the postal service and financial transactions more efficient and will make all of us just a bit safer.

When was the last time you got a letter or package that wasn’t a piece of direct marketing or some other unsolicited communication, a greeting card or bill to pay? It’s time that the postal service allows only solicited parcels to be shipped. Banks and other institutions need to shift to digital and electronic systems immediately for all customers who wish to conduct business in this manner.

I never thought that I would live to see the day when the U.S. Postal Service would be our first line of defense! All those people in Washington closing offices and hiding out, yet the postal people go on about their work, bringing our mail every day.
