No Anthrax Found on Alleged Hijackers’ Cars
Amid speculation of a possible link between the anthrax cases in the U.S. and the alleged perpetrators of the Sept. 11 attacks, federal agents have tested cars owned by two of the suspected hijackers in Florida for spores, but they showed no trace, the FBI said.
Miami FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela said tests were conducted last week on two cars owned by Mohamed Atta and Waleed M. Alshehri and sold by them a week before the assaults on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Atta and Alshehri, who were both on one of the planes that slammed into the trade center, lived in South Florida in the months leading up to the attacks.
