From Times Wire Reports

A man accused of helping a suspected hijacker in the Sept. 11 attacks obtain a fake state identification card pleaded not guilty in Alexandria.

Trial was set for Dec. 12 for Herbert Villalobos, one of four people facing federal charges for allegedly helping some of the suspected hijackers obtain fake IDs in the weeks before the attacks. No other trial dates have been set.

Authorities say Villalobos, a day laborer, accepted $50 to sign forms using a fake name and falsely certify that Abdulaziz Alomari was a Virginia resident.

Alomari was one of seven suspected hijackers who exploited a Virginia loophole that allowed people to get IDs by submitting sworn statements about their identity and residence, without such proof as a passport or utility bill.
