The plane crash that took Aaliyah’s life Saturday has not only caused a national outpouring of sympathy for the pop star, it has also breathed new life into her album, “Aaliyah.” Released in July, the album had dropped out of the top 20 for several weeks. Now the record comes in at 19th on the national charts with an amazing jump to eighth on the local charts. Aaliyah had been filming a video in the Bahamas for her new single, “Rock Da Boat” and was on her way home with her entourage when the chartered Cessna plane crashed 200 feet after takeoff.
