Social Security Surplus

Share

Since the federal government and others wail that the Social Security trust fund will be unable to provide benefits promised and already paid for by a specific year, what in blazes are they doing spending the Social Security surplus (Aug. 29)? Accounting sense, common sense and moral sense all mitigate against this decision. I am seriously considering not paying my federal income tax in April 2002 because I honestly believe the federal government is stealing from American citizens by spending the Social Security surplus.

If the spenders of the Social Security surplus were businessmen they would be fired, sued for willful financial malfeasance and most likely go to prison for several years. The federal government is just begging for a tax revolt!
