From Times Wire Reports

The Mormon church has agreed to pay $3 million to an Oregon man who sued, contending the church covered up sexual abuse that occurred during his childhood.

Church attorney Von Keetch said in Salt Lake City that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accepted no blame but felt that the payment was cheaper than fighting a long lawsuit.

Jeremiah Scott, 22, sued the church in Oregon after a fellow ward member was convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing him in Portland when he was 11.
