Fly the American Flag in the Name of Freedom

Share

This reprehensible tragedy is the most unbelievable act of cowardice in the history of America. We cannot turn back the clock, but we can unite to show our support for our country. If you haven’t already done so, put up your American flag right now, and you will be reminded of the tragic deaths of those who perished, not only on Tuesday, but of the thousands of soldiers in wars past. We cannot forget any of them and the price they have paid for our freedom.

I cried tears of gratitude and sadness as I was putting up my American flag today. It wasn’t long until I saw five of my neighbors nearby who had joined me in displaying theirs as well. Our hearts go out to those who are grieving, and I hope that when they see everyone’s flags waving beautifully in the wind, they’ll know people truly care.

This is a call to all red-blooded Americans to fly the Stars and Stripes to show that the people of the United States stand in solidarity to secure the blessings of liberty. Let us be reminded that “a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” (the 2nd Amendment). We must hold these tyrants who committed these horrific acts against us on Sept. 11 “as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace, Friends” (the Declaration of Independence).
