Foxx’s Excesses

Share

I turned on my TV anticipating a fun evening of watching the MTV Video Music Awards (“Hard-Sell Operatics at the Met,” by Robert Hilburn, Sept. 8). How sadly disappointed I quickly became! I am not a prude by any means, but Jamie Foxx was not funny as emcee. Rather, I found him to be extremely offensive with his obscene and rude comments and actions. Even some of his verbiage had to be bleeped. Perhaps it might have been wise to bleep some of the videos accompanying his diatribe as well.

I expected to be entertained by comedy and music, not by constant references to genitalia. No wonder some members of the public and the Legislature want to censor modern music and videos. This show certainly will give them fuel for their cause.
