Prison Term for Teacher of Traditional Practice

A popular teacher of traditional Chinese qigong exercise arrested last year on anti-cult charges was sentenced to 12 years in prison for tax evasion, a court official said.
Shen Chang was convicted in the eastern city of Suzhou of selling tapes about the practice without a business license and concealing the income, the official said.
Shen had as many as 5 million followers. Qigong involves exercise, special breathing techniques and meditation.
