Cincinnati Cop Doesn’t Testify in Own Defense

From Times Wire Reports

The defense rested its case without any testimony from a Cincinnati police officer whose fatal shooting of an unarmed black man on April 7 sparked massive rioting.

Hamilton County Municipal Judge Ralph E. Winkler is hearing the case without a jury.

Officer Stephen Roach, 27, is charged with negligent homicide and obstructing official business.

Roach initially told investigators that in the dark of night, the man made a threatening move toward him and that he thought the man had a gun. Witnesses have testified that Roach was a responsible citizen and a model officer.

Roach could get up to nine months in jail.
