Prisoner Ruling Will Burden Taxpayers

Share

Re “FedExing Fatherhood,” editorial, Sept. 10:

I agree with your editorial. This is a stupid decision, and yes, we the law-abiding, taxpaying public will pick up the tab for all this insanity of allowing prisoners to procreate.

We need to voice our outrage over the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals judges who interpret the law in this manner. Convicted felons, by the very fact that they behaved in a manner detrimental to society, have no rights, and in fact owe society a debt, which is why they are behind bars. The negative consequences of this ruling are obvious. Not only is it a burden on us taxpayers, but it is morally and ethically inappropriate.
