Housing Groups Sponsor Workshop for Landlords

Property owners and managers may attend a landlord workshop offered by four local housing authorities.
Its purpose is to encourage land lords to accept vouchers from the
federal rent subsidy program known as Section 8. The seminar will highlight the benefits of Section 8, including reduced tenant turnover, reliable rent payments, limits on occupancy and free property inspections.
About 2,300 county families recently began receiving Section 8 vouchers for the first time.
The meeting will be Oct. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Garden Grove Community Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. The participating housing authorities are Orange County, Anaheim, Garden Grove and Santa Ana.
