From Times Staff Reports

The U.S. will brief NATO defense ministers in Brussels today on investigations into the Sept. 11 attacks and possible military responses, but no alliance action is likely, NATO sources said.

Deputy Defense Secretary Paul D. Wolfowitz can expect another strong expression of solidarity from the 19-nation alliance. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization invoked a mutual defense clause for the first time in its 52-year history the day after the attacks.

U.S. officials said Wolfowitz would look to allies to help with intelligence sharing and measures to cut off financial flows to terrorism suspects.
