Workers Evacuated at Boeing Over Bomb Scare

From 2,000 to 3,000 employees were evacuated from the Boeing Co.’s C-17 cargo plane assembly and engineering buildings at Long Beach Airport on Wednesday morning after an anonymous bomb threat.

Company officials said the buildings were searched and nothing was found. They said normal work schedules would resume this morning.

The threat was phoned in shortly after 10 a.m. George Silla, a spokesman for Boeing, said the search, conducted by company security personnel with assistance from police, was completed by late afternoon.
