Israel Fears Coalition With Arab States

Re “U.S. Overtures for a Coalition Alarm Sharon,” Sept. 26: Early cries of holding states responsible have faded, replaced by our growing reliance on the “global coalition against terrorism.” Excluded from this coalition is Israel, the major target of terrorists and the nation most likely to fight back. Included in the coalition are Arab countries responsible for terrorism.

Since we seem to be so concerned not to offend our enemies, perhaps what’s really needed is a “global coalition against appeasement.”
