Faced with a midnight suspension of all U.S. aid to Yugoslavia, Serbia’s government issued arrest warrants against some of the closest associates of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic to face war crimes prosecution in The Hague.

Four warrants were issued for former Milosevic associates, including the current president of Serbia, Milan Milutinovic.

Vladan Batic, Serbia’s justice minister, said it was now up to police to arrest the four.
