Court Moderation
The headline of Kent Scheidegger’s March 29 commentary refers to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals when it states: “Senate Blocks Changes to a Court Gone Amok.” As a remedy, he suggests that the Senate confirm President Bush’s nominations. But it is Bush who has gone amok. His nominees, though they may be experienced, are extremists. The Senate must hold the line until moderate nominations are put forward.
