Panel to Discuss Ormond Beach, Harbor
The future of Ormond Beach and Channel Islands Harbor will be the topic of a meeting Thursday of the Greater Oxnard Organization of Democrats. .
Panelists will be Ventura City Councilman Brian Brennan, chairman of an anti-erosion organization; Reed Smith of the Ventura County Audubon Society; and James J. Kilpatrickof Pacific Vehicle Processors, which is seeking to expand its operations near Ormond Beach.
Environmentalists have questioned a boating facility--affiliated with Cal State Channel Islands--proposed at Channel Islands Harbor and its effect on shore birds.
The meeting will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 300 Surfside Drive, Port Hueneme. For information, call 985-5783.
