Qualcomm Chip Defects Delay Some Shipments

Qualcomm Inc. mobile-phone chips have defects that are delaying the shipment of some phone orders from wireless operators such as Verizon Wireless Inc., phone seller and Qualcomm customer Audiovox Corp. said.

Qualcomm said in a statement that it “detected an error which could occur in a small portion of the early shipments” of two chipset lines “that could result in certain performance issues.” Spokeswoman Christine Trimble said the error was immediately detected and corrected.
