* Network Associates Inc., the maker of McAfee computer-security software, had a first-quarter profit and raised its forecast for sales and earnings this year. Profit was $15.8 million, or 10 cents a share, compared with a loss of $47.4 million, or 35 cents, a year earlier. Revenue climbed 32%, to $220.7 million from $167.2 million.

* DoubleClick Inc., the largest Internet advertising company, said its first-quarter loss narrowed after it cut costs. Sales fell 27%. The loss narrowed to $6.04 million, or 4 cents a share, from $60.4 million, or 48 cents, a year earlier. Sales fell to $83.7 million from $114.9 million.

* Juniper Networks Inc., the second-largest maker of equipment to direct Internet traffic, had a first-quarter loss on investment losses and acquisition-related costs. Revenue plunged 63%. The loss was $46.0 million, or 14 cents a share, compared with net income of $58.6 million, or 17 cents, a year earlier. Sales fell to $122.2million from $332.1 million.
