More Than 1,000 Protest Anti-Semitic Attacks
From Times Wire Reports
More than 1,000 protesters calling for an end to anti-Semitic attacks staged a peaceful rally outside a recently firebombed Brussels synagogue.
“We must wake up. Our democracy is in danger,” the head of the Belgian Jewish community, Philippe Markiewicz, told protesters. “If we are not careful, even more serious incidents are going to happen.”
A sharp rise in anti-Semitic attacks in Europe has coincided with Israel’s military offensive in the West Bank.
