Nintendo Co., the world’s second-largest video-game maker, will sell its GameCube in Europe for about a fifth less than originally planned, undercutting by about 30% the price of Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox game machine.

Nintendo, the company behind classic game characters such as the Mario brothers and Pokemon, will sell the GameCube console for a suggested retail price of $177 when the machine hits store shelves next month, the company said.
