Suspected Guide Is Shot by Border Patrol Agent

A Border Patrol agent shot a suspected guide for illegal immigrants near the U.S.-Mexico border in the Imperial Valley, authorities said Tuesday.
Hector Castillo Roman, 29, of Mexicali, Mexico, was listed in stable condition at El Centro Regional Medical Center.
The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. Monday at an agricultural channel along the border.
