Ellen Goodman (Commentary, April 19) could not have read my mind better about Botox and these women who have “frozen faces,” what with the total loss of muscle control in their faces to express themselves. They are selling themselves short for seeking the approval of . . . who? Others who are just as superficial? Whatever happened to “reading” someone, a very necessary human dynamic?

The perfect solution to having a great appearance does not lie in an injection that hides a facial expression but in being comfortable in your own skin.
