From Times Wire Reports

The Food and Drug Administration approved an additional therapy for advanced breast cancer patients whose disease continues to progress after other treatment.

The drug, faslodex, was approved for use in post-menopausal women with a type of cancer known as hormone receptor positive metastatic breast cancer, the FDA said. It is intended for women whose cancer continues despite anti-estrogen therapy, such as tamoxifen.

Faslodex, which is expected to be available for use by the end of May, is also known by the chemical name fulvestrant.
