Plenty of Positives in Tijuana, So Why the Negative Attention?

Share

Anne-Marie O’Connor’s article (“Seduction of a Generation,” July 28) hit home. Why doesn’t your paper, or any other in this country, write an article about the good things and hard-working people in Tijuana? Why don’t you find out about all of the excellent students who have graduated from Instituto Mexico--those who have established businesses and are productive members of society; those who create jobs, keep our country growing, participate in their community and give back to the community? Why don’t you write about the tens of thousands of young people, on both sides of the border, who go to Tijuana for productive purposes, such as building homes, education-exchange programs, and sports and cultural events? We only hear about the few who married wrong, are into drugs, get into trouble and go to Tijuana to drink.
