Wine of the Week

Here’s a racy young Sauvignon Blanc, lean and graceful with a delicate, lingering finish. It makes a fine aperitif and can easily segue into dinner, especially if you’re serving fish. It goes especially well with goat cheese, too.

It’s a very pure expression of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, possibly the single best from California I’ve tasted recently. Fortunately for us, Farrell is one winemaker who has determinedly kept his head about prices, so it’s also a great buy.

About $18. Available at Beverage Warehouse in Marina del Rey, (310) 306-2822; Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, (949) 650-8463; Red Carpet in Glendale, (818) 247-5544; and Woodland Hills Wine Co. in Woodland Hills, (818) 222-1111.
