6 Top Judges Quit in Row Over King’s Powers

Six South African judges who make up tiny Swaziland’s top judicial body have quit in protest of a government decision to ignore their rulings that would limit the power of King Mswati III.
Prime Minister Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini said the Court of Appeal judges, on loan from South Africa, had overstepped their authority in two rulings that held that Mswati, sub-Saharan Africa’s last absolute monarch, had no constitutional power to override parliament by issuing his own decrees.
