Search Called Off for Marine Lost at Sea

A 57-hour search has failed to locate a Marine who fell overboard from a troop ship returning from a deployment to the Persian Gulf, officials announced Wednesday.
A memorial service will be held aboard the assault ship Belleau Wood for Cpl. Robert A. Contreras of Corona. Contreras, an ordnance technician assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fell overboard as the ship was traveling from Guam to Hawaii.
