Five Killed as Suspected Rebels Blow Up Bus
From Times Wire Reports
A land mine blew up a bus carrying soldiers, police and civilians in Nepal, killing at least five passengers and wounding 30, police said.
They blamed Maoist rebels for the attack on a highway near Karkare village, 125 miles southeast of the capital, Katmandu.
An officer said two soldiers were among the dead.
Nepal’s rebels claim to be inspired by Chinese leader Mao Tse-tung. They want to turn the Himalayan kingdom into a communist state.
