Father Boyle Doesn’t Coddle Gang Members
Samuel Phipps’ Dec. 8 letter contains the phrase, “as long as people like Father Greg Boyle coddle gang members....” Phipps obviously has no idea how Father Greg works with gang members. Father Greg has gone on record stating that he believes in prevention, intervention and suppression when it comes to addressing the gang problem.
He has, in fact, stated recently that there is a need for more of a police presence in gang-affected communities.
To suggest that Father Greg “coddles” gang members simply displays the letter writer’s ignorance about Father Greg and the Jobs for a Future program.
