Enthralling rings

Thank you for the interesting article on Peter Jackson and “The Lord of the Rings” (“A Pair of Ring Masters,” Dec. 8). However, Lady Galadriel’s ring, Nenya, was not made by Sauron. It, like the other two rings of the Elves, was made by the Elven King Celebrimbor and the master craftsmen of Eregion. If Sauron were to obtain the One Ring, then those rings would be revealed to him, and all that were wrought by the Elves using the rings ruined. The Nine Rings of men were made by Sauron and given to men, whom he enthralled.
