Jail Meals Sicken Sniper Suspect, Guardian Says
From Times Wire Reports
Sniper suspect and vegetarian John Lee Boyd Malvo says he is getting sick from eating the jail’s meatless loaf, which is usually served to inmates for disciplinary reasons.
For the last two weeks, the Fairfax County jail has been serving the 17-year-old Malvo “the loaf,” a hodgepodge of flour, raisins, carrots, potatoes and other ingredients baked into brown cakes. Malvo’s court-appointed guardian, Todd Petit, said Malvo has suffered swelling, diarrhea and other problems since being placed on the diet.
