Air Controllers Join Strike
From Times Wire Reports
More air traffic controllers joined a hunger strike in Siberia and other parts of Russia after the government rejected their demand for a 30% pay increase.
The hunger strike began Sunday after a court ruled a work stoppage illegal. The government, saying its resources are not “boundless,” offered 15%.
By late Monday, the strike included 21 control centers that monitor 10% of Russia’s cargo and passenger air traffic.
