Ethan Allen Opens First Store in China

Ethan Allen Interiors Inc., the largest U.S. furniture retailer, opened its first store in China, laying the groundwork for a larger rollout in Asia.
The 14,500-square-foot showroom in Tianjin, China’s third-largest city, is part of an agreement with the nation’s Markor Furniture International Ltd. to develop a chain of Ethan Allen stores.
Ethan Allen entered Europe earlier this year, opening two stores in Britain.
Shares of Ethan Allen fell 71 cents to $34.85 on the NYSE.
