Sudanese Questioned About Embassy Plans
Authorities questioned a 33-year-old Sudanese man about blueprints for the Japanese and Israeli embassies that were found when police searched his Hamburg apartment, the Hamburg prosecutor’s office said.
Police searched the apartment of a man identified as Abdelwahab M. in December after receiving a tip that he might have explosives and could be linked to some of the Sept. 11 hijackers. No explosives were found, said Ruediger Bagger of the prosecutor’s office.
However, authorities found the plans for the embassies and asked the man to come in for questioning, which he did, Bagger said. He gave no further details.
