Taxpayers Should Not Pay Accused Judge

Share

Re “O.C. Judge Accused of Child Molesting,” Jan. 11.

To understand that an individual can be charged with such a heinous crime and still be compensated by the taxpayers is such a contradiction in terms it cannot be understood. The $134,224 annual salary that Judge Ronald C. Kline will continue to receive pending disposition of the criminal matter should be deferred, and if not deferred it should be recovered in full if and when he is found guilty. By no possible interpretation imaginable is it right that the hard-working, law-abiding taxpayers should have to foot the bill for this “person’s” bail, or legal defense costs.
