Coalition Urges FCC to Probe ‘Boston Public’
A coalition of watchdog groups has petitioned the Federal Communications Commission to investigate Fox Network’s high school TV drama “Boston Public” for flouting the agency’s decency regulations. More than a dozen groups, including the Christian Coalition, complained about shows that involved characters working as strippers and an affair between a student and a teacher. News Corp.’s Fox unit issued a statement saying: “‘Boston Public’ deals dramatically and responsibly with real issues--often sensitive issues--that face our children everyday in our schools.”
