Honor the Flag

Share

I just passed a dumpster alongside the 405 Freeway. It had a huge American flag painted on its huge side. Alongside me on the freeway drove cars with tattered, dirty flags fluttering. On the 10 Freeway was a cement mixer rolling along, rotating, with Old Glory revolving on its side. Back home, the neighbors proudly fly the Stars and Stripes day and night, in the rain or whatever. A few flags show up backward. I even saw one hanging from the back bumper of a truck, spattered with mud.

When our national emblem passes us in a parade, we stand at attention out of respect. Let’s show respect whenever we display that flag, shall we? It’s time!
