Andersen, the accounting firm embroiled in the collapse of Enron Corp., quit as outside auditor for one of the energy company’s units.

Azurix Corp., a Houston-based subsidiary that owns and operates water and waste-water assets, reported in a regulatory filing that Andersen resigned as its independent accountant. The filing gave no reason for the resignation, and an Azurix spokeswoman didn’t return a call for comment.
