Negative Valley Voices

In “The Root of Secession’s Stall: Identity” (Opinion, Feb. 3), Joel Kotkin correctly says that secessionists are failing due to a lack of a positive vision. All I ever hear from them is negative harping. Being a third-generation Angeleno living in the Valley for the past 26 years, if I am to consider voting positively for secession I need to see a positive vision of what they say a Valley city would be like.

All I hear is the constant pounding on the many problems the city is faced with and their assumptions that secession would solve them all. All they’ve done is give me a headache. I don’t want to make these huge changes based on negatives but rather on a positive vision of how things will be better.
