Jacqueline Orden Manuel and Mark Anthony Curran have announced their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Philip and Josephine Manuel of Anaheim Hills. She attended Cal State Los Angeles and received an associate in science degree in nursing from Mt. San Antonio College. She is a registered nurse.

The groom is the son of Paul Curran of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and the late Blanca Ruiz. He received his medical degree from UC Davis School of Medicine. He is a perinatologist.

The couple will marry July 20.

Michael John Keskinen

The engagement of Deborah Lynn Schmaltz and Michael John Keskinen has been announced.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schmaltz of Huntington Beach. She is a preschool teacher in Mission Viejo.

The groom is the son of Gloria Keskinen and John Keskinen of Mission Viejo. He is director of purchasing for a Rancho Santa Margarita computer firm.

An Aug. 24 wedding is planned.

The engagement of Marcy Dawn Campbell and Thomas Carl Stoffel has been announced.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Bruce and Ellen Campbell of Fullerton. She received a bachelor of arts degree, majoring in political science and minoring in U.S. history, from UC Riverside.

The groom is the son of Richard and Laurie Stoffel of Anaheim.

An April 6 wedding is planned.

Matthew Brian Hooven

Mr. and Mrs. James Sorenson, formerly of Irvine, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Christine Sorenson, to Matthew Brian Hooven, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hooven of New Castle, Pa.

The bride-elect graduated from University High and Brown University in Providence, R.I. She is a sports anchor and reporter with NBC and George Michael’s Sports Machine in Washington, D.C.

The groom received his bachelor of arts degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., in 1995 and is a police officer in Montgomery County, Md.

A June wedding is planned in Lanai, Hawaii.
