“It’s a wine from Alsace, the ’96 Marc Tempe Gewurztraminer ‘Grand Cru Mambourg.’ It’s from the warmest area of Alsace, and the wines develop a rich and spicy character. My wife and I enjoyed it at the Sierra Mar restaurant at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur--a fabulous spot. It was stunning with foie gras. Gewurztraminer is so rich that it works well with foie gras.”
