Kostelic Aims for a Record Fourth Medal

Share

Croatia’s Janica Kostelic can become the first skier to win four medals in the same Olympics if she finishes among the top three in today’s giant slalom. But the Croatian sensation, who won gold medals in the slalom and combined and a silver in the super-G, faces her greatest challenge in this event. She has not finished higher than 10th in a World Cup giant slalom this season.

Switzerland’s Sonja Nef, the World Cup giant slalom champion, is favored. Other contenders include Austria’s Michaela Dorfmeister and Norway’s Andrine Flemmen.
