Endorsing Schmit for Clerk-Recorder

In the course of my business, I have been in the Ventura County clerk-recorder’s office an average of once a week for the past 15 years. During that time, I have observed Phil Schmit supervising this challenging department in a highly competent and pleasant manner.

He understands complicated laws in areas of public access, privacy, government, administrative and personnel matters, among others. He is proficient in complex computer and accounting systems, recording some 300,000 documents every year.

He has the character to be trusted with the real property, birth, death, marriage, election and other records of our county.

I have seen his kindness in his dealings with the public and with the employees of his department, and note how well-liked and respected he is. I know of no more dedicated public servant than Schmit and endorse his election as Ventura County clerk-recorder.
