In its first response to President Bush’s trip to Asia, North Korea angrily rejected a U.S. offer for negotiations.

The official Korean Central News Agency quoted a Foreign Ministry official calling Bush a “puppy knowing no fear of the tiger.”

“We are not willing to have contact with his clan, which is trying to change by force of arms the system chosen by the Korean people,” the unnamed official continued.

The statements were apparently a reaction to Bush’s criticism, during his visit to South Korea, of the North’s leader, Kim Jong Il.
