Christmas Trees May Be Recycled Into Mulch

Long Beach residents can recycle their Christmas trees into garden mulch Saturday at the city operations yard. Even the treeless can take home mulch, which is free.

Residents who want to dispose of their holiday trees can bring them to the yard, 2929 E. Willow St., between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and watch them converted into mulch.

Reusable containers are required for the mulch, which the Long Beach Environmental Services Bureau says is useful in gardens to discourage weeds and water runoff.
