Re Brian Lowry’s On TV column, “A Kind Word for TV Suits” (Jan. 9) about ABC management changes:

Though it may not be limited to commentators on the motion picture and television industries, there is a tendency to lionize new executives as “whip-smart” and “aggressive,” while later, on their departure, they are reported as someone’s under-performing scapegoat.

An executive’s job in all businesses is demanding, stressful and competitive, but particularly so in the subjective world of commissioning creative but commercial entertainment, where it is also visible and unforgiving. That Stu Bloomberg has excelled at it for 20 years is an achievement to be noted with honor and respect.
